Kaylee's first Christmas!

Kaylee had her first Christmas!  She fell asleep on mommy trying to open her presents.  She loves all of them!  I cant wait for her to really start to play with all the toys!  She is getting big on us really fast though.  Tonight I gave her a bath and she enjoyed it this time.  Also we had her playing on her mat and she started talking (jibber jabber)  to us.  Not exactly sure how long she is right now, but our weight scale here says that shes about 9.5 lbs now!  I'm so proud of her!  I'm sure daddy is too!

A couple of weeks ago Kaylee and I went to see one of my best friends out here.  Her name is Layla and she has 6 kids at home and 7 all together!  Kaylee enjoyed her time meeting Tyler ( the youngest daughter)  She kept staring at her whenever Tyler moved around the room!  The youngest boy (Ethan) was a little scared of her spitting up and when she burped he jumped backwards and just about left the room!  It was a fun time!

Mommy is feeling a lot better now.  The doctor told me that everything has healed nicely, and I dont have to go back until next year!

Kaylee has her 2 month check up and immunizations in a couple of weeks!  Time flies.

Wow! One month already!!!!!!

Kaylee is getting sooo big!  She has outgrown most of her newborn clothes and into a variety of 0-3 month and 3 month clothing.   It all depends on who makes it I guess.  She has started sleeping in her crib with mommy sleeping in the same room for now.  Last night was really good as she slept most of the night and only woke up twice for feedings!  Still doesnt like the bath that much, and she loves spending time with Bruce and me.

Here are just a few pictures of her at one month!

Had to put one of her enjoying her swing while she was awake!

Squeaky Clean.....

Kaylee had her second bath today!   Cried the whole time.  At least Kaylee doesnt smell like spit up anymore.  Kaylee has been keeping mommy up at night and wanting held all day long.  Shes my special lil  girl!  She has been wanting mommy over daddy all the time!   Bruce cant wait to have his lil girl back.  Every time she starts crying, Bruce cant get her to stop.  The second Bruce hands her to me, she stops and falls asleep.  Kaylee is starting to hold her head up by herself for a minute at a time here and there!  She is definitely growing!

On the other hand.  Mommy is feeling better.  I have lost 68lbs since she was born, and the swelling has gone down a lot!  Cant wait to be back in normal clothes!    Well goodnight all, time for dinner and a nice evening with the family!

My first week in this world!

The first week in this world for Kaylee has been a very good one!   She passed all her tests and screenings.   Thanks to the wonderful world of Skype, Kaylee had the chance to meet some of her cousins, her aunt and uncle (Jen and Tony), and Grandma and Grandpa Thackery!   Each time she woke up right after we ended the call.   She has been very good with her feedings.  I pump every once in a while so daddy can feed her while mommy takes a nap.  Her first movie that she "watched" was Shrek, and she really really loves the swing that Aunt Jen and Uncle Tony got her!  Time for bed now.   Goodnight everyone!

Unexpected C-Section.....

A few weeks before my actual due date (Nov. 19) I started having high blood pressure with every doctor visit.  Sent to the hospital for a blood pressure check, then sent home.  A week later and I had high proteins as well as high blood pressure.  Sent back to the hospital...  Sent home with a 24 urine test.   Back to the hospital once again to check the results.   My proteins were higher and my blood pressure wasn't getting any better.  They decided to keep me and induce.  They started with this 12 hour medication, that if it didn't work that they would have to put me on pitocin.  12 hours later and nothing happened.  5 am on Saturday they start the pitocin drip to start actual labor.  10:30 am, the doc came in and broke my water.  After being checked every 2 hours to see how far along I was, 6pm was here before I knew it.  (6pm was the cut off time for labor for me cause of how high my blood pressure was.)
After about 28 hours of labor I was sent in for a C-Section.  10 minutes later we had our wonderful baby girl!   Kaylee Anabelle Thackery was born at 8:32 pm on November 13, 2010.  Weighing in at 8lbs 6oz and 19.25 inches long!
